The Kingston Select Board on June 2 authorized payment of a $2,500 match to the Kingston Lake Association (KLA) for the 2025 Lake Host program.
The board reviewed a letter and invoice from Muriel Ingalls, president of the Kingston Lake Association, requesting the town's $2,500 match toward a New Hampshire Lakes Association grant for the local lake-host program. The memo said KLA had been awarded $3,300 through the New Hampshire Lakes grant and requested the town match.
Town staff confirmed the amount is budgeted under the Conservation Commission line item titled "boat attendant" (currently $2,500) used in recent years for the same purpose. The board moved to authorize signing the invoice; the motion passed unanimously.
KLA reported that lake hosts inspected 2,649 boats in 2024 at the town and state ramps and that paid and volunteer hosts would be on duty on weekends in June and weekdays beginning July 1 through Sept. 1. The board directed the finance staff to process the invoice from the Conservation Commission budget line.
