“Just wanted to share it with the committee to see what we spoke about,” said Paul, a staff member who attended the conference, adding that conference networking included conversations with peers in Chicago and elsewhere. Committee members were invited to reach out to staff with questions about the presentation.
The committee did not take further policy action on the presentation at the meeting; the item was received and placed on file, preserving the record of the conference presentation and the county’s stated next steps, which include establishing a land bank and a housing trust fund and considering new residential zoning districts.
