City says amphitheater project will include public art; arts master plan vendor selected pending council approval

Commission staff member Nicole Mullet is developing an initial request for artists to produce murals for back walls that will also serve as wayfinding to the amphitheater and bike-and-hike trail connections.
Commissioners said planning is advancing quickly and that some elements remain unofficial until contracts and council approvals are finalized. A member noted the arts master plan is “pending council approval” but that a grant has been provided to the city to fund the plan’s work. Members asked for continued updates at subsequent meetings and said they expect the project team to return with public-art specifics, including calls for artists and placement plans.
The commission encouraged members to monitor ArtsNow events and other town meetings as the master plan and amphitheater projects move toward implementation.
