Snoqualmie planning commissioners prioritize three climate goals, set timeline to meet state grant deadline

The Snoqualmie Planning Commission agreed June 2 to prioritize three parts of the city’s draft climate element — emergency preparedness, local economic resilience and climate‑conscious development — and to return a consolidated draft for the commission’s next meeting so staff can meet a Department of Commerce grant deadline.

The change is intended to produce a shorter, implementable list of goals the city can report against; Director Davis told the commission “we’ve got a grant from the Department of Commerce, and that grant all of our climate work has to be substantially completed by June.” Chris Green, the consultant from OTAC leading the element, urged cutting the overall list so the document will be actionable: “We need to be trimming this up.”
