District installing dark fiber and classroom technology; fiber boring struck a fire riser that was repaired quickly

Staff noted the incident demonstrates the kinds of anomalies encountered in underground work and said the project remains on track.
Separately, staff reported classroom technology upgrades across the district will continue this summer, with the high school and other seismic-impacted rooms scheduled for phased work behind contractor activities.
