Union County Public Schools finance staff told the committee in June 2025 that year-end budget housekeeping required several small state and federal amendments and transfers and that the committee should forward those items to the full board.
Miss McLean, finance staff, said the district received a few state amendments — including “a little, you know, a hundred dollars” for one line item — and additional state funds for certification (National Board pay), technology and transportation. On the federal side, she reported modest additional funds for an exceptional children (EC) grant and equipment grants for School Nutrition. Staff also said bond premium funding needed to be posted to the district general ledger and presented for committee approval.
“We are… closing down our school year, so we have a few state amendments that have been received,” Miss McLean said. After discussion, the committee voted to forward the budget amendments and transfers to the full board; the transcript records a voice “Aye” but does not show individual vote tallies.
Staff emphasized that some items were housekeeping and year-end cleanups; committee members did not request substantive changes or identify contested items during the recorded discussion. The committee’s action was to forward the district’s proposed amendments and transfers to the full board rather than enact them at the committee level.
Staff did not provide a total dollar figure for the combined amendments and transfers during the committee discussion.
