The North Penn School District Facilities and Operations Committee on May 27 approved a facility-use fee waiver allowing Hatfield Township to use the Penn Dale Middle School auditorium for a developer-to-homeowners association transition meeting connected to the Del Webb development.
District staff said the township’s planned event is expected to attract approximately 325 attendees, a number larger than the township’s usual meeting space. The committee noted Hatfield Township previously allowed the district to use its township building when the district’s Educational Services Center was unavailable.
Mister Slaughter, a district facilities staff member presenting the request, described the waiver as "the return of a favor," citing the township’s earlier assistance. Committee Chair Ms. McMurtry called the motion; members voiced their approval and the motion passed with no opposition.
The waiver is administrative and limited to the single event described; no additional concessions or long-term changes to facility-use policy were made at the meeting.
