Weber County staff brief commissioners on Brookview rezone, ask for direction on road connections and traffic study

Commissioner Gageborough presided over the Weber County Commission work session on Monday and heard a staff briefing on a Brookview rezone scheduled for a public hearing the next day. The proposal covers a roughly 40-acre parcel and would change zoning "from a 1 to r 1 15," staff said, with internal neighborhood streets and multiple planned outlets to surrounding development.

County planning staff framed the item as a request for technical direction rather than a decision. "This is scheduled for tomorrow, public hearing, and this is something that Commissioner Harvey requested that we have a quick discussion," a staff member said, summarizing cross sections, rights-of-way and planned connections. The maps presented show 80-foot, 66-foot and 60-foot right-of-way cross sections, 5-foot sidewalks on most neighborhood streets, and a proposed 10-foot pathway on the north side of several collectors.
