Hoffman Estates’ Public Works and Utilities Committee authorized a change order to the village’s sanitary and storm sewer televising contract on June 2 to cover $11,226.48 in previously incurred work.
Public‑works staff said increased coordination between underground repairs and the annual road program accelerated inspection needs. Staff also reported the vendor delayed invoicing and staff applied an invoice incorrectly, which resulted in work exceeding the contract’s original not‑to‑exceed amount.
Staff told trustees there is sufficient 2025 funding for underground utility televising — roughly $500,000 identified in the year’s budget — to absorb the change order. The committee approved the change order by motion and recorded no opposition.
The action is administrative: it settles past work and brings the contract into alignment with actual services performed; no new scope beyond the televising contractor’s work was authorized.
