Finance committee and council accept $60,000 county radio grant for new command truck radios

The West Bend finance committee and common council on June 2 approved a resolution accepting $60,000 from the Washington County Municipal Radio Grant Program to purchase radios for new public‑safety vehicles.
Chief Norrin told the committee the radios are intended for a new command truck being purchased this year and a support car arriving in June; staff also mentioned an engine expected in March 2026. “The grant request is for $60,000 from the county, radio grant program,” Chief Norrin said.
The finance committee approved the resolution by voice vote and the matter was later carried by the council without further debate.
Next steps: staff will apply the grant funds toward procurement and installation of the radios for the identified vehicles.
