The West Bend Common Council on June 2 accepted several community donations to the Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department, including monetary gifts and an in‑kind contribution, the city said.
Parks Director Mike reported the donations: $280 from Saint Lawrence Congregation for the Special Olympics program; $5,000 from the Russ Darrell Group as presenting sponsor of the 2025 Dirty Ninja kids’ mud run; $20,000 from the West Bend Sunrise Rotary Foundation for the Regner Park Aqua Park; $9,000 from an anonymous donor toward Ridge Run Cabin renovations (noted as the donor’s fourth gift, bringing that donor’s total commitment to $114,000 for the project); $200 from the West Bend Disc Golf Club for Riverside Disc Golf Course improvements; and an in‑kind donation valued at $14,500 from Sprozzi and Carter Construction LLC for the White family cabin renovation at Ridge Run Park.
Why it matters: council members and staff said the gifts support park improvements and special programs and thanked donors for supporting quality‑of‑life amenities downtown and in neighborhood parks.
Action: the council approved acceptance of the donations by voice vote.
Next steps: staff will integrate the funds and the in‑kind contribution into departmental accounts and project plans. Park staff also noted upcoming events related to Park and Rec, including a Regner Park Aqua Park ribbon cutting and grand opening on June 6.
