The Dalton City Council approved two alcohol beverage licenses June 2 after staff reported departmental approvals and Public Safety Commission recommendations.
City staff presented an application for Bargain Barn Inc. d/b/a United Grocery Outlet #9 (applicant Salma Kuna) at 918 Glenwood Avenue for a packaged beer and packaged wine retail permit; staff reported approvals from the fire department, code enforcement and the city attorney and noted the Public Safety Commission had recommended approval. Council moved, seconded and approved the application.
Staff then presented an application for Deja Vu Club LLC d/b/a Deja Vu (applicant Maria Vargas Esquivel) at 224 North Hamilton Street for an on-premises pouring license for beer and liquor. City staff again reported approvals from fire, code enforcement, the city attorney and the Public Safety Commission; the council moved and approved the license for the bar.
City staff did not report any outstanding concerns or conditions for either license during the council meeting. Both approvals were handled by motion and voice vote at the meeting.
