Selectmen discuss enrolling in regional resilience program; town applied for a $50,000 highway-garage grant

Town staff briefed the Board of Selectmen on a Community Resilience Partnership offered through MCOG and said Rangeley previously completed a questionnaire and has applied for grants under the program.
A staff member told the board the town applied for a grant for the highway garage in the amount of $50,000. Staff said there is no cost to enroll in the resilience partnership and enrollment would allow Rangeley to be eligible for future grants. The staff member offered to complete the paperwork and return to the board at the next meeting with the application details.
Board members expressed interest; staff noted the next round of grants is due in August and that enrollment can occur on a rolling basis. The board did not take formal action to commit funds or accept a grant award at the June 2 meeting; staff will return with application details.
