A speaker asked whether the designation would include his military rank in the park name; a council member clarified that the intent was to use the full rank and name. A motion to approve the rededication resolution passed on a roll call vote with all council members present voting yes.
The resolution states it is effective “forthwith upon passage and its approval, in the manner provided by law.” Council members who voted yes included Mister Reid; Mister Woodham; Mister Carey; Miss Lively; Miss Hune (also referred to as Miss Yoon in the transcript); Mister Burrows; and Mister Broderick.
