Superintendent Dr. Horrell told the board the initial pilot intentionally limited placements to two students to test procedures and capacity. He said that expanding to six students would allow “a few more students” while the district continues to monitor the program year to year.
A board member asked whether the policy would still exclude students who had completed an equivalent of grade 12 in their home country or whether seniors should be admitted for a single-year senior experience. Horrell acknowledged the question and agreed to follow up with the board to clarify the language before final action.
The board moved the item to the consent agenda for next week’s business meeting; no final vote on the policy change occurred at the work session.
