GreenTree Borough Council approved a $74,163 change order Thursday to complete the purchase of a new fire truck, citing supply-chain changes that required substitution of specified equipment.
Mister Ray, reporting for the public safety committee, told council the vendor, Keystone Fire Apparatus Company, passed supplier change costs through to the borough without adding profit. Council approved "sales change agreement number 2" for $74,163 to cover those supplier adjustments and added equipment that the department requested.
Officials said the revisions were driven by components that were no longer available in the vendor’s original specification and that the vendor’s supplier invoiced the difference; the borough did not pay a contractor markup on that line. The committee reported the vehicle remains on the manufacturer’s build schedule and that delivery is estimated at about 10 months.
Council approved the change order on a voice vote and directed the borough manager to continue procurement and contract oversight. The council’s public safety committee will continue to oversee the vehicle purchase and will report progress to the full council, including any further change orders tied to supplier availability.
