Elyria Planning Commission to meet second Tuesday monthly beginning July

The Elyria Planning Commission announced at its June 3 meeting that it will move its regular meeting date from the first Tuesday to the second Tuesday of each month beginning in July to better coordinate referrals with city council.
At its June 3 meeting the Elyria Planning Commission voted to change its regular monthly meeting date from the first Tuesday to the second Tuesday beginning in July to improve coordination with the City Council referral schedule.
Planning staff explained the change is intended to avoid calendar conflicts that have prevented timely referral to city council when both bodies met on the same day. "The dates, historically have had issues in terms of, coordination as you indicated with city council. So what we're doing is removing this to the second week to ensure that everything is properly referred by city council in case they fall on the same date," Miss Snowdon said.
The chair confirmed the commission's next scheduled meeting will be July 8, 2025. Commissioners moved and seconded a motion to adopt the new schedule and the motion carried by voice vote.
Commissioners and staff said the change is logistical and intended to allow planning commission recommendations to proceed to council for consideration without schedule conflicts.
