Cowlitz County on Tuesday approved an amendment to county code Chapter 5.10 governing music festivals, primarily changing insurance requirements to align with state regulations.
Kathy Funk Baxter, the county finance director, told the board the action will repeal the current Chapter 5.10 and replace it with an updated version. "We would be repealing the current chapter 5.1 o music festivals and making changes primarily to the insurance requirements," she said, adding the code was put in effect several years ago and needed updates.
Funk Baxter said the amendments reflect changes over time and bring the county code into compliance with state regulations related to music festivals. The board opened for public comment; no speakers came forward. A motion to approve the code amendment carried by voice vote.
The amendment was approved as presented; the transcript does not record details of the new insurance limits or the effective date beyond the board action.
