The Tippecanoe County Board of Commissioners approved three highway-related actions on June 2: a contract award for School Road reconstruction, acceptance of a warranty deed for County Road 500 East, and a settlement distribution tied to an earlier eminent-domain filing.
Highway staff recommended awarding the School Road reconstruction contract to the low bidder, Milestone Contractors, in the amount of $663,500 and accepting a 5% bid bond. The board voted to approve the construction contract and bond on the motion recorded during the meeting.
The board also accepted a warranty deed for County Road 500 East (Parcel 11), a property identified as Truck Country of Indiana, for $56,350. Commissioners approved the purchase by motion and recorded the vote.
Finally, the board closed out Parcel 15 from the original Morehouse Road project. The parcel (Reed Clement LLC) had been subject to eminent-domain proceedings; the parties agreed to avoid further litigation and to release court-deposited funds of $25,364 plus a $3,100 settlement, which the board approved for distribution.
Each of the three items passed on voice vote during the meeting, with no recorded opposition.
