The Spalding County Board of Commissioners on June 2 considered a first reading of a revised planning and regulation ordinance that updates development and building-permit requirements and approved staff-directed edits.
The board voted in favor of the first reading by a 5-0 voice vote. During the discussion commissioners and staff agreed to implement specific adjustments requested by staff; one change described in the meeting would remove Appendix 4, Article 4, Section 408 from the ordinance.
Commissioners said further work will continue on the ordinance during subsequent meetings and workshops. No final adoption (second reading) occurred at the June 2 meeting; the action recorded was a first reading with directed revisions prepared by staff.
