Spalding County manager warns Jackson Road repaving will require full-depth reconstruction, cause closures

The Spalding County manager told the Board of Commissioners on June 2 that ER Snell is scheduled to begin full-depth reclamation on Jackson Road in June and that portions of the road will be closed while crews rebuild the pavement.

The announcement, made during the county manager’s report, noted that heavy rain this spring delayed the contractor’s start. The manager said digital signs around the county indicate the work will begin “next week,” and warned residents the project will be disruptive. “We are just reiterating please understand that this is going to be a painful experience because a lot of our neighbors utilize Jackson Road to travel to and from work,” the county manager said. He added that the project is full-depth reclamation and that crews are “tearing the road up to rebuild the road.”
