The Hopkins family has allowed EMS to land on the property previously; the sublease and donation will make the arrangement formal and better ensure safety and long-term use.
County discussion emphasized the Hopkins family's longstanding community support and the public-safety benefits of having a dedicated helipad site. The court approved the sublease by voice vote; the agreement was reviewed by county legal staff prior to the meeting, staff said.
