The Vigo County Commissioners approved a set of minutes and a claims docket totaling $4,066,761.94, which the presenting official said included distributions to fire departments.
An official presenting the claims docket told the commissioners the payments covered the period from May 23 through May 30, 2025, and noted that the size of the docket reflected distributions to fire departments and similar payments. “We have 1 claim docket, and I do wanna, stress that the reason why this is so much is because of lit distributions to fire departments and such,” the presenter said, adding the total of $4,066,761.94 and asking the commissioners to approve it. A commissioner moved to approve the claims docket; commissioners voted “Aye.”
The commissioners also approved a set of minutes from a prior meeting after a motion to approve. No amendments to the minutes were reported during the vote.
During public comments and announcements, Commissioner Shane Bonny and other officials referenced a school board meeting the previous night and cautioned residents not to take social-media headlines at face value. The meeting concluded with a note that next week's meeting time would be 10 a.m. instead of 9 a.m.
