At the June 2 meeting the LaSalle County Committee on Appointments, Legislation and Rules approved and forwarded to the full board a resolution reappointing the county engineer to a six-year term beginning Aug. 19, 2025.
The resolution text presented to the committee stated that the Illinois Department of Transportation had provided consent on April 29, 2025, for the reappointment. The resolution as read fixed the county engineer’s salary “starting August 19, 2025” at the minimum of the IDOT-recommended salary schedule.
A committee member moved to approve and send the resolution to the full board; the motion was seconded and the committee chair called for the ayes. The committee recorded the motion as carried. The meeting transcript records the motion and the committee’s voice approval: “All those in favor of said motion for resolution seconded by saying aye,” followed by “Aye” and “Motion carried.”
The committee did not discuss alternative candidates or amendments to the resolution during the meeting. The resolution will appear on the board agenda for final action.
