He urged a simple numerical limit to avoid future disputes: "My suggestion would just be to put a limit, you know, 2 truckloads, 4 truckloads, whatever of what is going to be allowed." The road superintendent responded that crews had removed several loads and that the department is not set up to haul very large private piles indefinitely: "I've never had somebody with that much land want the county at their expense to haul off their material. That's something that's an easy fix. They just cut it up and burn the brush pile."
The chairman said tightening website language would reduce confusion about when county courtesy pickup applies and would lessen neighbor conflicts and costs for the department. The committee did not vote on policy changes at the meeting; members advised staff to review the online wording and consider drafting clearer limits for future action.
Other committee business: the chairman briefly reviewed communication plans with the superintendent and encouraged further discussion to restore a functional working relationship. He asked for continued focus on planning, fiscal responsibility and accountability in decision-making for county infrastructure.
