Alders approve $60 million biennial capital plan

Alder Walker Myers said a two‑year capital plan “forces the departments to look further out and really assess what is the need.” Alder Festa noted that the capital package includes more than $5 million spread across departments for transportation and electrification projects requested by the New Haven Climate Movement.
The capital budget passed on a voice vote; no roll‑call tally was recorded in the transcript. Alders characterized the allocation as an investment in city infrastructure and said some departments will use bond proceeds for projects over the next two years.
