The recommendation, which the panel said will be placed on the Common Council agenda, is in response to a citizen complaint filed against Mayor Denny. The panel’s chair, Carol Lukens, moved the recommendation, saying, “I motion, make a motion to recommend to the common council the continued engagement of civic appointed legal council to represent the city and unelected city staff in the matter currently pending before the city's ethics board pertaining to the citizen complaint filed against mayor Denny and related actions up to a limit of $10,000.”
The motion was seconded by Veil and carried without opposition. After members in favor signified by saying “aye,” the panel chair stated, “That item will go to a future council meeting, I believe June 10, for council action.”
No additional discussion or public comment on the matter was recorded during the special meeting. The panel then adjourned.
