A Republic Services representative attended the committee meeting, answered questions from council and staff, and confirmed there would be no change to the services offered under the contract.
The committee voted 7-0 to recommend placing the ordinance on second and subsequent third reading. On May 19 the council read the ordinance title and placed the item on second reading; no floor discussion or public comment was recorded at the council meeting during the second-reading placement.
No final contract award or vote on final passage was recorded at the May 19 meeting; the item was advanced for further council consideration.
