Council schedules June 24 public hearings for Maslow Road site plan and industrial zoning changes

Council members received brief introductions to two planning items and scheduled public hearings for June 24 at 7 p.m.
Planning Chair Davidis described an amended conceptual site plan for property on the east side of Maslow Road, south of Burgess Drive, that would allow three buildings — including a free-standing Dairy Queen and two other commercial structures — with proposed access points to Maslow Road and Burgess Drive. The developer’s amended plan also referenced a potential future connection to Town Park Boulevard to help with traffic circulation. The planning commission previously recommended the site plan 5–0.
The committee also reviewed a draft ordinance (2025-07) that would amend Chapter 157’s Table of Allowed Uses to add or revise permitted and conditionally permitted uses in the I‑1 General Industrial Districts (areas near the airport, Arlington Road and behind Giant Eagle). The planning director said the changes revisit which facilities are allowed in those industrial districts. Both items were introduced at committee and will be open for public comment on June 24; committee members deferred in-depth discussion until the public hearing.
No votes or final approvals were taken at the May 27 council meeting on either item. The planning committee adjourned and will revisit the matters after public comment.
