The City Council on June 2 approved a $69,309.69 payment to Huber Technology Inc. to rebuild two Huber screw-press dewatering units at the city's wastewater treatment facility.
Amanda, the wastewater director, told the council the two screw presses perform the last dewatering step at the treatment plant and have been in service since May 2022 without major service. She said Huber's inspection recommended a total rebuild of wear parts, which requires hoisting the units and on-site work by Huber technicians for service and training.
Council moved and seconded the item and adopted it by roll-call vote. Amanda said the machines began processing in May 2022 and that the recommended work aligns with expected wear timelines reported by the vendor.
The council approved the rebuild to restore the presses' wear parts and to conduct on-site training and service by the manufacturer.
