The Town of Smyrna Beer Board on June 2 approved an off-premise beer permit for Market 2 LLC, doing business as Cloud Market, which owner Yousef Habib said will operate as a 21-and-up store offering vapes, beer, vape accessories and CBD.
Yousef Habib introduced himself as "the owner of Cloud Market" and said he already operates a location in Murfreesboro. He told the board he expects to open the Smyrna location next week and plans to use a Square point-of-sale system to scan IDs. "We have a Square POS system, which is a scan, and we also check the ID to make sure the picture and the date," Habib said.
Habib said initial staffing will include himself and one employee transferring from Murfreesboro; he said he will hire a manager in Smyrna once the location is established. Amber, the town permitting staff member, confirmed manager additions require submission of the manager form and staff will process background checks administratively.
A member moved to approve the off-premise permit; the motion was seconded and the board approved by voice vote. The chair told Habib when to pick up paperwork and payment at the window after 10 a.m. the following day.
The board’s record shows approval was contingent on routine administrative follow-up and payment processing.
