The Morgan County Drainage Board approved release of a subdivision maintenance bond for storm-sewer work in Allison Estates Section 1 at its June 2 meeting after staff reported post-installation inspections confirmed the infrastructure is functioning two years after installation.
Justin, a board staff member, told the board the maintenance bond had been issued to the drainage board rather than the commissioners and that inspections show the system is "working as it should 2 years later after inspection or installation." He asked the board to approve releasing the bond. Justin identified the bond amount as "$35,707 even" and the bond number as "0814344."
Kenny Veil moved to release the bond; a second was called and the board approved the release by voice vote. Board members clarified which bond was under consideration before the vote to ensure no confusion with other instruments.
Staff did not identify any outstanding maintenance or punch-list items tied to this bond at the meeting. The county staff member who presented the item said the infrastructure inspections supported the release recommendation.
