The City of Sweetwater commission unanimously approved an amendment on June 2 to a resolution authorizing signatures on all city bank accounts to add the newly elected commission president and vice president.
City Attorney and staff explained that a motion to amend was required to update signatory authorization following the commission’s organizational elections. Commissioner Saludias moved the amendment; Commissioner Julius Ruiz seconded. The clerk recorded an affirmative voice vote and the chair confirmed the item “passes” and “as amended.”
The resolution language on the record stated it provides for transmittal, instructions, and authority containing an effective date; the commission’s amendment specifically added the names of the newly seated president and vice president to the authorized signatories. The amendment was approved on the floor and the resolution passed as amended.
The attorney noted the change was administrative and linked to the earlier organizational votes; staff was directed to implement the updated signatory instructions with the city’s banks.
