In February 2005 the remaining two lots were resubdivided to encourage development, but no development occurred. Because a 20-foot utility easement on Lot 1 limits buildable area, the proposed modification aims to provide a more equal distribution of buildable land between Lot 1 (0.85 acres at 821 Mark Drive) and Lot 2 (0.602 acres at 811 Mark Drive). Staff recommended approval of the certified survey map (CSM) as submitted.
Alder Swanson moved that the commission recommend the Common Council approve the CSM with the lot sizes specified in the motion; Commissioner Powers seconded. One commissioner commented, “I think duplexes are great,” during the discussion, but no substantive objections were raised.
The commission voted to recommend council approval; the chair said the motion will appear on the council agenda on Monday. The transcript did not record individual roll-call votes for each commissioner during the verbal discussion.
