The Verona Planning Commission on June 2 approved a site plan for an addition to an existing storage building at 1979 Milky Way, a facility identified in staff materials as MB 44.
Staff member Severson told the commission the existing building sits on the west side of the campus in the southwest portion of Campus 6 and is currently used for utility and maintenance operations supporting the campus. He said the proposed addition would match the existing building’s design, expand to the west along an existing driveway, and require no new roads.
The commission had no technical concerns, and staff recommended approval of the site plan as submitted. Commissioner Powers said, “I’ll just note that I’m abstaining from this,” and Commissioner Hankard moved that the commission approve the addition. The motion was seconded by Alderson.
With no further discussion, the motion passed, the chair announced, “that motion passes, 6 to 0 with Commissioner Powers abstaining.” The commission did not record individual yes/no votes in the spoken record provided.
The approval is a recommendation to allow the applicant to proceed with the site plan as shown; no changes to public roads were required, and staff indicated access will continue to be from the existing driveway. No additional permits, funding sources, or permitting timelines were discussed during the item.
