Board considers appointments to several volunteer advisory bodies, including veterans and homeless housing task force

James said the homeless housing task force has an opening (the task force can have up to 15 members) and reported a positive conversation with applicant Alyssa White, who works as a certified peer support specialist and is active in services for people experiencing homelessness. James said she would have no problem recommending White for the task force.
On the veterans advisory board, James said two vacancies exist after a recent resignation and an expired term; she reported two applicants with veteran and community-service backgrounds and said both appear reasonable candidates. For the Board of Equalization, staff reported the chairman, Laura Yoder, moved out of state and recommended an appointment of Cameron (surname reported in transcript) who staff described as a law-school graduate, business owner and local landowner; commissioners said they were satisfied with the recommendation.
Staff said the volunteer appointments will be presented to the Board as routine appointment items at an upcoming meeting.
