Greg Corson, a Cortland resident, told the council that a storm drain tile under his property has been collapsed since last year and that recent heavy rains have eroded his driveway and pushed his garage door inward.
"It's been collapsed since last year, and this keeps getting, like, excuse after excuse after excuse and why it's not fixed," Greg Corson said. He said the problem worsened after a recent flood and that prior temporary work (snaking the line) had not resolved the underlying collapsed section.
Council members and staff responded that the public works superintendent, Chris Miner, was on vacation but would be asked to address the complaint upon his return. A staff member said, "When he returns next week, I'll talk to him about that." The mayor invited Corson to meet with staff after the meeting so the city could document the location and plan follow-up work.
Corson asked for a timetable after saying the issue had persisted for more than a year. No immediate repair date was established on the record; staff asked to meet with the resident and promised the superintendent would review the site after vacation.
The council did not authorize a capital or emergency repair at the meeting but confirmed the administration would pursue the issue with Public Works once the superintendent returned.
