The Contract Review Committee on May 30 said it received 11 proposals for a human services needs assessment, narrowed the field to four finalists and scheduled interviews for June 5 to select a contractor.
Jericho Veil said the committee will decide after interviews and intends to sign contracts soon thereafter so work can begin this summer. “We had 11 submissions. They were boiled down to 4 final 4 finalists. We're doing interviews with them on, I want to say, the June 5, after which we'll have a decision and we will, you know, ink up the contracts and start the project launch,” Veil said.
Veil outlined an expected sequence: contract launch and planning over the summer, focus groups about two months after contract start, and a survey instrument to follow. He cautioned primary, locally collected survey results will not be available in time to inform this grant cycle’s allocations, though historic and regional benchmarking will be included in contractor work plans.
Committee members noted the assessment’s results could inform next year’s grant descriptions and categories but that the timing meant the current grant cycle would proceed without locally collected primary data.
No contract award was made at the May 30 meeting; decisions will follow the June 5 interviews and standard contracting steps.
