County planning staff recommended and the Berkeley County Planning Commission approved advertising a public hearing for consideration of a detailed site plan for a proposed electrical substation on DuPont Road.
Staff said the DuPont Road Substation (file no. 2501-020), proposed by FirstEnergy Corporation with Kleinfelder listed as the engineer, would be constructed on about 1.4 acres on DuPont Road approximately 0.35 miles southeast of Williamsport Pike. Staff reported no water or sewer utilities are proposed and that County Engineer Doug Smith deemed the detailed site plan compliant with the subdivision ordinance on May 27, 2025.
Josh Crubbs was listed in the meeting as the project representative. After no substantive questions from commission members, the commission voted to advertise a public hearing for the detailed site plan to be considered at the July 7 Planning Commission meeting.
