Peoria County treasurer reports real-estate tax deadlines, successor named to begin July 14

Nicole Bierke, Peoria County treasurer, told the Ways and Means Committee on June 2 that the county is “hot and heavy into our real estate tax collection.” She said real-estate taxes are due June 10 and that the first distribution is scheduled for June 17; mobile-home taxes were due May 1.
Bierke also said her replacement, Brandon Martin, has been shadowing her and will take office July 14. She introduced Martin to the committee; members acknowledged the appointment and asked Martin to stand briefly during the meeting.
“So as everyone knows, we are hot and heavy into our real estate tax collection. The due date is June 10 and our first distribution will be June 17,” Bierke told the committee. She added that mobile homes were “pretty much done now. That due date was May 1.” On succession, Bierke said, “My replacement, July 14, has been sitting with me pretty much every day.”
The committee received the report as information; no financial action or changes to distributions were made during the meeting.
