Superintendent confirms Dunnellon High's Class of 2025 as principal cites academic, athletic milestones

At Dunnellon High School's 2025 commencement ceremony, Principal Wade Martin said the graduating class includes 320 students and highlighted several academic and athletic achievements; Dr. Diane Gullett, superintendent of Marion County Public Schools, then formally confirmed the class's graduation under state authority.

"This class consists of 320 graduates, most of whom are here this evening," Principal Wade Martin said, noting that "54% of our students are graduating with a 3 GPA or higher. 113 of those students are graduating with a GPA of a 3.5 or above." He also said, "8 students have completed their associates of arts degree from the College of Central Florida," and that one student will attend the United States Naval Academy in the fall. Martin added that the school's football team went "8 and 4 and were the district champs and made it to the second round of the playoffs," and that 13 students had signed to play athletics at the collegiate level.

Dr. Diane Gullett, superintendent of Marion County Public Schools, confirmed the graduates under the school system's delegated authority and cited state education rules before instructing students to mark the occasion. "The moment you've been waiting for. Graduates, you may now turn your tassels. Congratulations," Gullett said.

The confirmation by the superintendent followed the principal's presentation of class metrics and school acknowledgments (staff, administrators and community partners named during the ceremony). The statements from Martin and Gullett represent the public record of the school ceremony and the formal conferral of diplomas by the district's superintendent.

Diploma presentation continued after the confirmation; the ceremony closed with the playing of the alma mater and formal dismissal of the Class of 2025.
