Pearland ISD superintendent certifies Robert Turner College and Career High School Class of 2025

Pearland Independent School District Superintendent Dr. Larry Berger accepted faculty certification and formally declared the students of Robert Turner College and Career High School as graduates during the school's Class of 2025 commencement ceremony at NRG. Salutatorian Mia Rodis and valedictorian Lydia Greer delivered commencement addresses, and school leaders and district trustees attended the ceremony.
The certification was presented by faculty and staff, who read that the candidates had “successfully completed the course of study as prescribed by the state of Texas” and had met “all graduation requirements as stipulated by the board of trustees of the Pearland Independent School District.” Dr. Berger responded, “I accept your certification and I hereby declare these students as graduates of the Pearland Independent School District with all the rights, honors, and privileges of this degree.”
Principal Dr. Kai Bouchard welcomed the audience and thanked district leadership and school staff for supporting the students’ education. Salutatorian Mia Rodis, identified as the daughter of Keeley and Charles Rodis and soon to attend Whittier College, told classmates, “Well, guys, we did it.” Valedictorian Lydia Greer — the highest-ranking graduate and next year a student at Sam Houston State University — reflected on the variety of student pathways at Turner, from career certifications to extracurricular achievements.
Platform guests included Superintendent Dr. Larry Berger; Deputy Superintendent Kelly Holt; Assistant Superintendents Dr. Lisa Nixon and Dr. Charles Allen; Executive Director Dr. Lakeisha Henson Vaughn; and members of the Pearland ISD Board of Trustees, including Board President Crystal Carbone and Vice President Dr. Christopher Schofler. Turner administrators recognizing students included Principal Dr. Kai Bouchard; assistant principals Joy Brown Johnson and Kevin McDonald; associate principal Angela Piedras; and counselors Juan De La Garza, Priya Patel and Leticia Romo.
The ceremony named students earning honors (summa and magna cum laude appear in the roll call) and concluded with the traditional tassel-moving to mark alumni status. Attendees were asked to remain seated while each graduate's name was read; organizers advised families they could meet graduates outside the NRG front courtyard after the event.
The program and remarks emphasized the school’s small-class, career-focused environment and the transition graduates face after completing compulsory education. No votes, policy changes or budget actions were taken at the event; the principal and superintendent performed the formal certification required to confer diplomas under district and state education rules.
