The Canal Winchester Landmarks Commission approved application CA25-027 on May 27 to replace failing box gutters with a 6-inch K‑style gutter system and to repair/replace rotten fascia and soffit wood at a two-family residence on High Street.

The applicant explained the existing front-end roofing and gutter assembly had deteriorated; staff and the applicant noted past intermittent repairs and local failures attributable to rot under the prior configuration. The applicant said the rear and an old summer kitchen already had K‑style gutters and the new front work would match existing conditions.

A commission member moved to approve CA25-027 with conditions that the fascia and soffit be replaced in wood (treated if desired), the gutters and paint be white to match existing trim, and that the style be K‑style (not black). The motion passed on roll call with unanimous approval.

The applicant thanked the commission and said the materials were treated and ready; staff will follow up on the final installation and paint color to ensure it matches the building trim. The change replaces a nonstandard box-gutter assembly with a like-style K‑style gutter system consistent with nearby building elements.
