The Everett Public Schools board approved the selection committee’s recommendation to appoint Cascade High School sophomore Alana Doing as the district’s student representative beginning Sept. 9, 2025; her term will run through June 2027.
A staff presenter introduced Alana and read recommendations from teachers and coaches praising her communication, leadership and service. Alana briefly addressed the board and said she looked forward to representing students. The board approved the appointment "without objection" by general consent during the May 27 regular meeting.
Alana attended the meeting with family and a guest; presenters named her parents Bob and Corey and a friend, Kingston. The board did not take a recorded roll call vote on the appointment because it was adopted by unanimous consent in the meeting.
