Following the council’s closed session, the City of Bandera City Council designated the city attorney as the designee to negotiate with Main Street businesses and the Best Western hotel to open balcony areas and a bathroom for the upcoming Memorial Day weekend.
Tony Battle moved to designate the city attorney to negotiate on behalf of the city and Debbie Breen seconded the motion. The council voted 5-0 in favor of the designation. Council members later noted there would be no action on a related item b.
The designation authorizes the city attorney to negotiate short-term access or use arrangements for the holiday weekend; no ordinance or contract was executed at the meeting and staff will report back if negotiations produce a formal agreement needing council approval.
