Bob Vale, a candidate for Cumberland County Council, outlined three legislative priorities he would pursue if elected: senior housing, workforce housing and regional consolidation of services.
Vale described a priority on housing options across the care continuum for seniors and on workforce housing, and he urged exploring consolidation of services with neighboring communities to reduce costs.
"One of my priorities is senior housing, continuum of housing care for our elderly families," Vale said. He added workforce housing as a second priority and said a third priority is "consolidation of services, within the surrounding communities, Falmouth, Yarmouth, North Yarmouth, perhaps Gray." He said the region "can't keep doing the same thing and expect a different outcome" and that the area should "try a few different things."
Vale asked for voters' support in the June 10 election. No formal motions or county-level actions were made during his remarks; the statements were campaign comments.
