During the consent and project items, council members discussed remaining work at Harrington Park. Staff said the project is essentially complete aside from seating; quotes for seating installation have been received and were discussed in the meeting. One staff member referenced a figure of about $14,000 for seating, and council members confirmed remaining items are within original project parameters and funding.
Council also approved a separate recommendation to proceed with permanent vegetation establishment for Harrington Park. The council recorded motions and votes to approve the pay requests and the vegetation recommendation during the agenda sequence.
Separately, the city administrator and staff noted that estimates for a walking trail project proposed by Evening Rotary at Harrington Park came in higher than anticipated; two trail options were presented and both were described as expensive. The council did not adopt a new contract for the trail during this meeting and asked staff to continue working on funding and scope.
Staff said project budgets remain within originally budgeted State Revolving Fund (SRF) approximations discussed earlier in the meeting.
Council members asked staff to continue work on remaining seating details and to return with final costs and contracts for any additional park renovations or trail work.
