CIC authorizes up to $3,000 to clear overgrowth at 31 Phillips

The Saint Barn Community Improvement Corporation voted May 27 to authorize spending up to $3,000 to clear overgrown brush at a village-owned vacant lot at 31 Phillips.
Board members said the hillside property inherited by the CIC is heavily overgrown and that adjoining property owners on Baker reported that brush was impeding use of their concrete patio and pool. One board member said he believed cleanup under $3,000–$4,000 would be less expensive than repairing any potential damage to neighbor property.
A motion was made to “approve authorization to spend not more than $3,000 to maintain the property at 31 Phillips,” and was seconded by Joe Brickler. The roll call vote recorded all available members voting yes and the motion passed.
Board members said they will obtain bids from the village service department and from private contractors; availability of outside contractors was described as limited and some vendors “so overbooked that it's gonna take a period of time.”
