Committee backs $99,754 bid to improve circulation at Shiloh Valley Primary parking lot

The Union County Public Schools Facilities Committee on May 28 voted 4-0 to recommend that the full board approve a $99,754 bid from Hux Contracting to improve circulation in the Shiloh Valley Primary parking lot.
"Bids were received on May 20. Three contractors submitted bids. The lowest responsive bid was Hux Contracting in the amount of $99,754," said Ms. Emil (staff member).
Committee members asked what the circulation improvements would do. Ms. Emil explained the work will open up the entrance to the parking lot so vehicles can move more easily inside the lot instead of being forced into a single in/out flow that prevents turning around.
After the presentation and brief discussion, the committee chair asked for a motion to send the item to the full board; the committee approved the motion by a 4-0 vote.
The committee also reviewed surplus inventory and provided a bond update as informational items during the meeting; no action was taken on those items during this session.
