The Town Council approved harbor commission recommendations May 28 to revise fuel dock pricing and to update mooring and dock fee schedules at the Bristol Marina.
Harbormaster Greg (last name not provided) asked the council to remove a previous cap that limited how the marina could price fuel and to move from a percentage‑based resident discount to a fixed cents‑per‑gallon resident discount (the commission proposed a 5¢ to 10¢ per gallon discount as an option). The council voted to allow the harbormaster discretion to set competitive fuel prices and to adopt the revised resident discount policy.
The council also adopted a tiered schedule of dock and mooring fee increases recommended by the Harbor Commission to address rising utility and operational costs. Under the approved changes, larger slips will be charged a higher per‑foot rate: 40‑foot slips would increase to $80 per foot, 30‑foot slips to $75 per foot, and slips 24 feet and smaller to $70 per foot (replacing the single prior rate of $65 per foot). Transient electric pedestal rates and certain nonresident fees were also adjusted to align with regional practices, the commission said.
Commissioners and councilors said the increases were intended to keep marina operations solvent while remaining below comparable market rates in the region. Council approved the changes by voice vote; the harbor commission will manage implementation and notify slip holders of the new rates.
